This Month at New Media Vault

Hosted by Tubefilter, Stella Media, and LA Mixers, sponsored by WebTVPrep and supporting SillyWalks4Hunger

This month we're, as we celebrate the holiday season, we're supporting the efforts of the SillyWalksforHunger, whose goal is to serve 1 million meals this holiday season. Every $5.00 equals 35 meals — so this is doable with the help of Los Angeles' New Media community.  So, come share the holiday cheer, and enjoy the only downtown Los Angeles new media networking event.

Last month, hundreds of flash mobbers and Monty Python lovers swarmed the length of Universal CityWalk Hollywood in the first-ever SillyWalks for Hunger, kicking off a hunger relief initiative with a goal of providing one million meals to families, children and elderly in need.  Inspired by the famous Monty Python sketch “The Ministry of Silly Walks” and to honor their 40th anniversary, this first "SillyWalks4Hunger was choreographed by superstar creative directors Rich & Tone and was executed with an intention to not just to entertain, but to bring attention to a critical issue: hunger.

Join us on December 16th and meet  the producers of SillyWalks for Hunger who expect to continue this donation drive to benefit Feeding America until their mission is accomplished.  You'll also get a sneak peek of this amazing event which was captured on 20 plus cameras in stunning HD, get a chance to win some terrific prizes (courtesy of Mashcast.com), possibly some very special surprises and more importantly, help raise money for Feeding America!  Tis the season to be giving so let's help Mashcast.com reach their goal and if you cannot attend please go to their website www.sillywalks4hunger.com and make even a small donation - $5.00 will provide 35 meals for those who need them.

FIRST WEB CONTENT AND NEW MEDIA PREP SCHOOL OPENS IN LOS ANGELES

Damian Pelliccione (New Media Vault, Stella Entertainment) and Brian Rodda (www.Strike.tv, Dogma Studios) are proud to introduce Web TV Prep (www.webtvprep.com) , the first professional school in Los Angeles dedicated exclusively to web content and new media.  The Web TV Prep campus is headquartered at Dogma Studios in Marina Del Rey.

Web TV Prep arrives just in time to help professional and aspiring artists and producers take control of their own careers in the Web 2.0 space. The school’s mission is to guide aspiring actors, writers and producers to become the star and producer of his or her own series on the Web.

“We will be the first professional preparatory of its kind, specifically geared toward writing, creating and monetizing your own Web series” says Rodda. “Furthermore,” adds Pellicione, “we are very excited to be housed at the state-of-the-art Dogma Studios, an industry leader in global transmedia content creation and monetization.”

Web TV Prep’s curriculum will concentrate on creative development, casting, production, post production, Web design, technology, social networking, viral marketing, ad sales and more.  Each week’s course will be taught by both Damian Pellicione and Brian Rodda, pioneers of the online media movement.

The doors open with a four-week overview course where students will learn how to create a complete Web series on a shoe-string budget, taking their ideas from initial concept to a fully marketable entity.

To maximize the student experience, a panel of expert guest speakers will appear every week to provide students with first-hand perspective on the changing landscape of Web 2.0.  Distinguished guest speakers.
